Ta-Da!!! Sookie's first official dessert table!

 One of my bestie recently had her first child.The shower was awesome and the dessert were a hit! The desserts included cake pops,marshmallow pops, popcorn mix, sugar cookies, cupcakes, candies and a cake!

The flower were done by local florist Madelon Rose Floral

Kennedy Leigh was born into the world September 28, 2012 at 9:40 pm healthy and with a head full of hair!

The Avengers!

 

My nephew is obsessed with swimming! For the past five years he has had a pool party. This is last years cake.

This year, like every other kid, he was all about The Avengers! I've seen the movie in theaters once but I think he has seen it more than 3 time!! So of course he just had to have an Avenger pool party. And he was very adamant that he wanted the Captain America shield but I added a twist! I saw a few cakes online that had the cake designed so that when you'd cut the cake it would look like the American flag! So I knew I had to try that out! Both the cake and the flag inside turned out AWESOME!

The rest of The Avengers were not left out! They, along with Captain America, were cupcake toppers!

My sister and I had a ton of fun doing this for our nephew! He loved all of it!

Sookie's First Wedding Cake!

 At the end of March we, we being my sister and I, did our first wedding cake! It was for a good friend of mine whom I've known since high school and they loved it!!

  The wedding cake was replica of the bride's dress. She loved it!! We also did vanilla, chocolate and red velvet cupcakes adorned with purple fondant bow.  The cake itself was classic wedding cake flavor with a white chocolate raspberry mousse filling.

Everyone loved the cupcakes!!!

First (Maybe Annual) Valentine's Day Sale

For a few years now I've been wanting to do a Valentine's Day sale. But every year I'd talk myself out of it. Saying I didn't have enough time or not enough experience or not enough something. But this year I did it!! I built up my nerve and just did it!! And I am proud to say that is was successful!!! I had Red Velvet Cupcakes, Red Velvet Cookies and Chocolate Truffles for sale!! My goal was to get 30 orders and got over 35!!! I'd like to thank my lovely family and friends for helping me and dealing with control issues lol I love you guys more than you'll ever know:) And to everyone that took and placed an order your support means more than you'll ever know!!! I'm thinking of making it an annual thing or maybe even seasonal. Let me recoup from this one first :)

One of my Hardest cakes ever!

A good friend of the family asked me to make a simple cake for her daughter's 2nd birthday.  She said she just wanted a marble cake with vanilla buttercream and for it to be cute.  Going into it I thought yea no problemo! No need to over think it or even sketch it out right?  WRONGO!  After I iced the cake I stared at it for a hour or so dumbfounded.  I didn't think a 1/4 sheet cake could be so evil! So I took a break and asked my sister/assistant if she had any ideas; she also was at a lost!  Then I started thinking about the cakes you see in the grocery store and BINGO I had it!  So I came up with this and she LOVED IT!  Now I know not to underestimate the simple orders and I also have an even more respect for the grocery store decorator.  Who knew simple could be so hard...
